Help Is Hope
Help Is HopeContact: Gerad AmoreBiography
Help Is Hope is a California-based nonprofit organization headquartered in Modesto, dedicated to empowering underserved communities in Stanislaus County and California’s Central Valley through innovative technology, peer support, and targeted outreach. The organization operates on the belief that “hope is not a luxury, it is a lifeline,” focusing on people who are unhoused, underinsured, justice-involved, or otherwise marginalized and facing barriers to essential resources.
Mission and vision
Help Is Hope’s mission is to break cycles of inequity by combining immediate relief with long-term, evidence-informed support in areas such as behavioral health, housing stability, digital access, and basic needs. Its vision is to serve as a beacon of hope where every person—regardless of income, background, or identity—can access the tools, technology, and human support needed to achieve stability, healing, and self-sufficiency.
Core approach
The organization is built around a whole-person, holistic model that integrates peer support, harm reduction, community health work, and care navigation, meeting people where they are in both physical and digital spaces. Technology is intentionally woven into services through digital platforms, resource maps, and tech-enhanced navigation to make information, referrals, and follow-up more accessible for people who might otherwise be left out of traditional systems.
Programs and services
Help Is Hope provides services such as mental and behavioral health peer support, resource navigation, outreach to unhoused and high-risk individuals, assistance with health and social service access, and connections to food, shelter, and basic supplies. The organization also offers specialized supports like HIV testing access through partners, harm reduction-focused outreach, and tech-enabled tools that help residents find housing, healthcare, and community resources in real time.
Community impact and partnerships
Operating as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, Help Is Hope collaborates with local systems, community-based organizations, and tech-aligned partners to fill gaps in care for Central Valley residents who are often overlooked. Through these partnerships and its innovation-focused model, the organization works to transform individual lives while contributing to stronger, more equitable communities across Stanislaus County and beyond.
